But guys, guys... The thing was running fine before running out of fuel. The fuel I put in has been running fine in the chain saw, backpack blower, string trimmer, AND the earth auger (which is not a Husqvarna). Other than the theory of lean running cylinder scoring, I haven't heard what would effect the change; other than the unfortunate possibility that something 'broke' within that 5 minute time frame.
I'll get out there tonight and check those things you asked.
Sorry guys, I though I did. The stone (whatever it is, fuel filter) was so gummed up it wasn't flowing. How that came about all of a sudden because I ran the tank 'dry' escapes me.

Simple. When there was enough fuel in there, any gunk on the bottom sloshed around enough to keep it out of the intake, though a good portion of the intake was probably already gummed up. Once you ran it out of gas all the gunk that was sloshing around closed the door behind it as the last of the fuel went through.
