If there is a sign saying not to bring a trailer, large vehicles, or something it is best to listen or scout ahead first without the trailer. Lots of issues can be avoided that way.
HAHA...This is so true. When I went to Mount Rushmore my GPS took me on Iron Mountain Highway (Google it). Unfortunately the signs for low clearance and no large vehicles weren't until I got to a point of no return. I made it all the way through but it definitely had a pucker factor of about 9.8.
When you're backing into campsite only listen to your backing spotter not everyone that comes over to help. They don't make the payments or have to pay for the damage from hitting something
That's a hard one isn't it. I have watched a spotter allow the drive to back into a tree and saw another back right into the camper in the space behind.
I am always really cautious about offering help with anything including minor technical stuff. I always ask before doing anything.
The problem, everyone is an expert and has an opinion. I just back really slowly as that gives me time to correct. Of course, if campgrounds were laid out with the idea that someone is going to have to back into that space some day, it would be a whole lot easier.
