Just got a 1993 Ford Bronco with the 302. I was wondering how I can find the axle ratio. The only way I could find was a build sheet and that cost $18.
There are a few ways to look.
1) Axle ID tags on the axles.
2) Vin decoder on this site
3) Remove the diff covers and count the teeth, but it'll be hard to count the pinion gear.
Another question. The 4wd floor shifter linkage is disconnected.
Does anyone have a picture of this put together how it's supposed to be? Or at least tell me how it supposed to go back together. I really need my four wheel drive for the summer since I drive take my truck down to Rodanthe and drive on the beach.
I figured out that the piece was broke. Another question. How do I know if I have the E4OD or AOD transmission? All information plaques and panels have been removed.
1993 should all be E4OD, it's also easy telling them from the cozy cab, if the shifter lever has an OD-OFF button in its cap then it's an E4OD for sure.
And a funny thing happened today. I was messing with the linkage in the above picture and unknowingly kicked the transfer case in between 4Hi and neutral but close enough to 4Hi for me to turn out the driveway, wondering why the steering was binding up some, get going down the road and then kick into neutral two blocks from home. Of course, not knowing what happened and not having the money for a new t-case or tranny, I freaked out thinking I had smoked the t-case or tranny. My neighbor came and looked and got it into 4Lo which got me home. Thankfully, once I got in my driveway, he got it into 2Hi. I really need to get that linkage fixed.
