Catastrophic oil cooler failure
Hey guys, I'm in the middle of tear down on an 05 F350 oil cooler fail. The coolant of coarse is full of oil and was wondering what was the best way of cleaning out block of oil residue before putting in new cooler.

Flush system with cascade or simple green let circulate a bit then flush well with water.
Refill with cat1 rated coolant and distilled. You want a true 50/50 mix.
Ford reccomends replaceing all hoses as well.

Yes otherwise you would never get the system cleaned out with the old leaking cooler still installed.

Old cooler is out. Definitely the culprit, after a pressure test was done... Time to order new parts.

They go about 3 to 6 months. I installed mine 1/13 and crapped out last fall.

141,000 I purchased at 121,000. She has been purring like a kitten until a week ago. Just happened all at once.

If you haven't done the STC fitting I would get it now while the turbo and intake is out.

Why Cascade or Simple Green specifically? Is there some reason a guy couldnt use Joy, Dawn or any other dish soap or detergent? Thanks.

I would think that u dont want to use a cleaner that will foam---put dawn in your dishwasher or washing machine and you'll get the idea
