Ford Drops Details on Redesigned 2016 F-650/F-750
On the short list of trucks not likely to get the aluminum treatment from Ford in the near future are the F-650 and F-750 series trucks. Ford hasn't left them untouched for 2016, however.
Ford does things a little bit differently with their most super of Super Duties. The 2015 model F-650/750 is now available with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel. You can get them in three different states of tune: one with 270 horsepower with 675 lb-ft, another with 300 horsepower with 700 lb-ft, and a third with 330 horsepower model with 725 lb-ft. The engine comes paired with Ford's TorqShift HD automatic transmission. The kicker? It comes with a 5-year/250,000 mile warranty. Can't get that on an EcoBoost.
Diesel aside, the gasoline 6.9-liter V10 is still an option. Also, unlike the diesels, the V10 can also be outfitted to run on CNG or LPG. Expect a full refresh of Ford's commercial trucks in the next year or so. There are a lot of changes coming.
