O.K., I need some input. I know a lot of people were following a post a month or two ago when we had received some VR head gaskets in a "Genuine Ford Parts" box from a dealership in Tennessee. The VR gaskets had the Ford part number on them but the number was X'd out. Yesterday we opened 4 boxes of head gaskets which we purchased from a Ford Dealership in Virginia. All 4 boxes has Felpro Head Gaskets in them!!!
We can't be the only ones who are getting after market head gaskets in Genuine Parts boxes from Ford dealerships. It's happened twice from two different dealerships in two different states with two different aftermarket brands.
If it's any consolation, I'd rather have the Felpros than the VR's.
X2.
Speaking of the FE world, Victor intake gaskets were fantastic, but as soon as NAPA dropped them the quality plummeted. Meanwhile Fel-Pro really stepped up and improved the old Print-o-leaks.
Post some pics of the Ford/Fel-Pro head gaskets Asheville I thought Fel-Pros were black coating.
I've contacted The Ford Motor Company, they won't respond. The first dealer refused to admit that the VR Gaskets (which had blue adhesive) came from their dealership. The second dealership's parts manager was on vacation last week but we communicated on facebook and he will be calling me today.
I wish I knew how to post pictures on here but I don't. I put the VR gaskets on my website blog, I'll do the same with the Felpro and then post the link.
FelPro is good stuff but really, so is VR. Even a good company can make a klinker once in awhile. Point being if I wanted FelPro I'd order up some. If I pay for OEM that's what would expect to be in the box.
Ford never responded. VR told me verbally that they manufacture the gaskets but said that they were not able/willing to put anything in writing. Now it looks like Felpro must be making Ford gaskets too.
Thanks for saying that about the way I handled it, I just try to be honest.
