I need your help everyone. I was removing the alternator from my 1996 f250 with a 7.5L 460 when the aluminum bracket that is mounted to the front of the engine broke. Ford dealership says they dont make that part anymore and no dealership in the country has one. I called all the salvage yards around and they said no also. I have just put a ton of money in this truck to get it on the road and now its sitting again. does anybody have any suggestions or know someone with a parts motor that could ship one to me.. thanks in advance
The salvage yards like to sell a complete motor with all the brackets. But I would think you could get one from any pick and pull yard. I see them all the time in 460 FI trucks and vans with the two serpentine belts.
Yeah I called the pull and pay places around. Nobody has the 460 f250 so I'm hoping someone in a different county or state knows of one
It does not have to be from a F-250 bracket.
The 460 could be from a F350, F53 or an E-series van. A lot of other trucks used that bracket beside the 1996 F250 in a lot of years.
Oscello how can I contact you in order to get that bracket? I am new to this site so I am not sure how this all works yet. Do you have an email or private message or can I call you?
Thanks white 97 for that website. The problem I am having with all those websites is the only option you have is to choose from are the parts not really an option for brackets or whatever.
I checked the inbox again and it says that I do not have permission to go to that page. Am I doing something wrong or is it because I am a new member? Sorry I am having trouble
