. My wifes nav is starting to crank a little longer before starting so I have done some searching and found a thread from 08 having the same problem and someone suggested a leaky check valve in the fuel pump but there was never anything else said. So does this sound right? Is a check valve serviceable or feasible or is a new pump the easiest way to go? Or is it something else entirely? I think she had over 180k on it the last time I looked.
thanks for any help.
You can usually verify that the check valve is the problem by cycling the key on and off several times, slow not fast though. Turn the key on for 5 seconds then off for 5 seconds. Do this 3 times then try starting it. If it fires right up it's the check valve, if it doesn't it's probably old and worn spark plugs.

Thanks man. I will try it. I know it is not the spark plugs cause I had to do a timesert not to long ago and replaced all the plugs. Should of replaced all COP's but didnt think I had the time (idiot). So if it is the check valve is it best just to do the whole pump or can the valve be replaced or serviced?
thanks again.
Alright I have some time again and was thinking of replacing the pump. Is it best to just change the whole fuel pump assembly or just the pump? big price difference but want to do it right the first time.
alright update I finally took the time to switch out the fuel pump assembly on the wifes nav. Seems like it is starting right up now but a overnight set will tell us everything i think. Hopefully that will do it. Next oil filter adapter seal I think is leaking not sure how bad of a job that will be.
the tank would not have been to bad if the damn hose clamps would have been turned where you could get to em but that is normal. Will follow up later after I find out if that took care of the long crank slow start.
