Distributor conversion on a 223 six.

I'm planning on doing the Duraspark conversion on my 223. Can I still use the stock carb? Where do I connect the vacuum advance.

There should be a plug or fitting on the side of the intake you can tap into for vacuum.

Is there a distributor gear with 12 teeth for a 223 that has a .531 shaft? Does anyone have the part number if it exists? It would seem that the '64 gear would have that shaft size if it has a 5/16" hex oil pump drive shaft.

If all you are doing is making the dizzy electronic, you can use the same carb and should use the same port on the carb for vacuum advance. I assume this is a LoadAMatic dizzy? If the dizzy has separate mechanical and vacuum advance, then you would use the manifold vacuum for advance.

Thanks... I got that figured out. What I'm looking for is the gear that will Fir the .531 Duraspark dizzy shaft with 12 teeth like the LOM gear. I know I can get the LOM gear machined to fit, but if there is a stock gear that fits...so much the better! The gear from Napa, DG305, is not right. It has 14 teeth.
