I couldn't even guess what the thread on the fitting in the EGR valve end of the tube is. The thread that screws into my manifold is definitely not an NPT, it's fine and it's straight. On the fordsix board, a guy had his apart and miked it and found a plug to fit from Parker. It was from working through that that we came up with the M27 or BSPP. Apparently Ford has used some different threads in various years.
it surprises me that ford would go through the expense of changing styles.
The manifold thread on mine are pipe thread for both the EGR port and the thermactor AIR ports.
I forgot to mention in my ealier post that the thread was a M24. Which translates to a 1/2" thread.
That bar on the passanger side is long gone since my shorty header days! I have no problems with my upper intake at all.
Well lexluthr69, that is reassuring for sure. I looked at it b/c I nearly had to take the starter out to fix that primary leak I cut a hole in and had no idea where to start to get it out.
$160?! I bought mine from O'Reilly's for ~$75 with lifetime warranty.
I was quoting out of Jegs, pricing for a "Jegs" high torque starter. Coming from a town of 13,000 I have never heard of O'Reilly's, they must be a local auto parts store?
O'Reilly is a pretty large chain store (at least in Texas) and I do remember that store being Hi-Lo..."High Quality, Low Prices" was their slogan from what I remember! lol
Be that as it may, keep us posted on you header install.
