engine color ?

After I power washed my 50 f5 the engine a 226 flat head, the head is red and the block is a green color and it seems to have an aluminum timing cover, any ideas as why the two colors thanks

I'm going with excessive beer intake.

Original color was red for the block. The generator and other attachments were black.

I'm not sure about the six cylinder, but for the flathead V8's the truck engines were red, the car engines were bronze and the Mercury engines were green, but I don't think they came with the six.
