Yesterday I was working on the truck....installed bellow uppies, van turbo (w/Dieselsite special sauce), re-sealed the fuel filter bowl. Do any of you, that work barehanded on these things, taste diesel fuel after having a diesel hand wash?

 

There are certain components of diesel fuel that will absorb into the skin, and others that will remain on the skin. Use a good degreaser on your hands.
How much absorbs depends on how dry the skin actually is, and if there is a barrier. Keratin will absorb any kind of moisture, but especially if it is low density. You could have diesel exuding from your skin for a few days. The best way to speed exudation up (I've heard) is to soak your skin with water.

 

The only times I've ever tasted diesel was either on the end of a siphon hose or when I wiped sweat from my face with a fuel contaminated hand.

 

I don't know Dan, I would think it would take a lot of soaking before absorption took place. Maybe touched your lips without realizing it? Nitrile gloves next time.
