fuel gauge issue

fuel gauge issue
my 58 has had new gauges installed the fuel gauge is a sun pro brand I think.the gas tank is new with a new sender unit as well with a solid foat installed.the problem is the needle doesn't stay stationary when running down the road it goes every which a way but when im stopped or sittin gstill I can tell what the gauge is truly reading ,do I have a connection problem or what ?

Nope... My autometer does the same thing. Its because the fuel tank does not have any baffles, so the fuel is sloshing back & forth in the tank.
The factory gauge is buffered, so it is not as noticeable. Aftermarket gauges tend to be much faster reacting.
Please post pics of your setup... I would like to see how you did yours.
