Lightning Blown Head Gasket

Hey guys. My father in laws Lightning has blown a head gasket. He has a few "goodies" and is running a little more boost than stock. He figured this day was coming and its here!

He is going to fix it himself. He has the shop and the tools, he just needs to know how to do it. Whats the best approach? Pull the cab? Pull the motor? Can you dent the firewall like on a 6.0L diesel?

And the most important question: He wants a permanent fix. Whats the best approach here? Is there a better head gasket? What about head studs? Any other helpful info?

Thanks guys!
