Interior lamp/Dome lamp
Ive tried searching and could not find what I was after.
We want to put in a dome lamp out of a newer truck into my sons 79. The newer style dome lamp has his/hers map lights.
Who has out one of these in and how did you wire it up?

The Crown Vic/Grand Marquis dome lights are similar if not the same. You can use your stock wiring for the dome light. If you want to have the map lights work with the dome of you need to run a separate power wire to the switches - should be fused. At least this is what I found out when striping demo cars.

As said above, you'll need to run the courtesy lamp circuit up to the dome light location. This is GREEN with YELLOW stripe, which among other things, provides power to the dome light portion of the headlight switch, and each door jamb switch. In the factory configuration, only switched power (BLACK with BLUE stripe) runs up to the dome light.
