adding bumpers
adding bumpers
hey guys i am thinking about adding front and rear bumpers, right now i have the front valance i guess is what its called its been filled in, i will have to cut out for brackets, and the rear i have nothing i will have to add brackets the also,, so is this a big deal ? i fell ok about the rear i will need to re route my tail pipes and add brackets, the front is a different deal, , i kmow some people loose the bumper and do the front valance, ,,, so what do you guys think?
Thanks
Thanks
The frt bumper bolts directly onto the frt frame horns. Which I assume have been cut off of your truck for the frt pan.
You will have to get some frame horns to weld back on or make some sort of brackets.

And while what avf said is true, it wouldn't be a big deal to trim some neatly cut holes in the valance and build your own brackets to mount the bumper, similar to what is used to mount the back. It's doubtful you'll ever be pushing anything with them, so they just have to be functional as a mounting, not necessarily stout or strong.
thanks i think i like the look of bumpers ,, its hard to know until they are on ,, the rear looks easy all but the exhaust pipes i was just going to shorten a little and do a turn down ??
thanks again
thanks again
