"magnifier glasses" My bi-focals make my neck hurt bending head back to focus.
Wonder if they make a monitor magnifier?[/quote]
Actually they do make monitor magnifiers and you can get a comfort optical mouse from microsoft that controls with a button that you can turn on or off as you need. I might invest in one myself and it would sure help the wife as she hates her bifocals.
The little tab hooks over the edge of the socket end of the wiper arm. It has nothing to do with the tang inside. You hook the tool over the lip of the socket end and lay the tool over the top of the wiper arm, lift up on the arm holding the arm and tool together, and use the leverage to lift the wiper arm assembly right off the stud. Works slicker than snot, and no screwdriver scratches. If I was a techie I could make a you tube video, but sadly my tool box is full of power tools, not pads.
But you still need to release the tab, right? With a screwdriver or something?
Nope. I'm not sure if I can explain it fully without pictures, but when you hook the tool over the edge of the arm socket, it points slightly upward and you lift the arm to meet it, hold the two pieces together then gently tilt the arm down, which rotates the socket where the tab bypasses the splined shaft and lifts right off. It's hard to explain, but if you had the tool and tried it in person, you'd see what I mean.
Now I know how it is supposed to work I'll have to go out and try it, when I bought the tool it didn't come with instructions. I still don't know how that tab comes into play though, I guess just pulling up on it releases the tab as it is only a spring steel tab?? Thanks very much for that link Wayne, much appreciated.
