Holy cow. Had my Injector pump off for return line fittings and O-ring replacements. When I was cleaning up the pump and injector lines I noticed some wear on the steel line for cylinder # 8. A hole almost rubbed half way thru the steel line. Source of problem was the Cruise control cable was routed over and laying on the steel line. Over time the ribbed cable sheath had acted like a saw and was cutting the line in two. (Not leaking yet.)
I rerouted the cable to go under the injector line.
Local International dealer can get me the one new steel line for about $140.00. and wait time.
Hydraulic shop across the street from the dealer can make me one for about $60.00 when I take the bad one in for a pattern to follow. Same day service.
Posting this for others to check on their rigs before they have same problem.
Did you check salvage yards? I scored a complete set of lines for $11. They came in handy when I had my 86 as the PO had cross threaded the #8 line and ruined the injector threads and the flare on the line.
