Towing with SCT tunes
My brother-in-law has a 2009 F350, 6.4 and tows a fifth wheel, 38ft. He is not the most savvy tech kind of guy, but is looking to increase his towing power and possibly increase his mileage when towing. I told him about the SCT program tuner. I personally am happy withe the performance of my 6.0, so I don't know alot about the SCT and the custom tunes that work best. Can anyone lead me in the right direction for the Programmer and custom tunes he may need?

I recently put in a SCT tuner and CAT/DPF delete from Rudy's Performance. Ran LVL1 for a while and it was great. Needed to tow the toyhauler/with the asphalt modified and tools in the back (13,000 lbs or so). So I called them and asked if I should go to their LVL2 custom tune before I tow - he said that he definately would. Mileage is absolutely better than stock - didn't notice much change from LVL1 to LVL2.

The Innovative tune had notably more power. However I found the shifting was all over the board and then I would get a boost code after about an hour. I've got a 4" straight piped exhaust and no DPF. Haven't done, nor am I planning any other engine mods. The little bit of extra power is helping with the mileage and overcoming the 35's. Other than that I don't care to play/pay more.
