Sounds great, but we have to see it or it didn't happen.

I tried one day to set up a photobucket account I ran out of cuss words trying to come up with a user name that wasn't taken. Truck seems solid I am going to replace the front ball joints I do have the ford drift on this maybe a red head steering box will see. My Chevy was tight as could be. Would be a able to 80 mpg with a trailer over a fwy transition over pass inches away from the rail with a trackter trailer next to me. I hope that will fix it.
Today started out great got the red head gearbox in the mail today. After that, had a ding guy come out and get some minor dents out that came out perfect.
But all of the sudden good old luck went to ****. About 5 minutes after the dent man took off a huge branch from the neighbors tree struck the X. It put a big dent right on the passenger door up top of the window. What a bitch.

Life is funny like that. 2 days after painting my front bumper I got a gnarly rock chip on it. I feel your pain.

Ok well I posted my 06 duramax for sale for a high price and oh shnikes someone bought it. This leads me to this forum because I'm looking to buy one now. Will be be my daily as well as my tow truck. I hear run away from the 6.0s, get the 7.3. I'm no lead foot but like to have some power.
Drove a few, the first one was all twitchy and beat. The second one lived buy the beach all rusted. Seems no body like to keep them clean I know there family trucksters but man have some pride in your stuff.
What should I be looking at buying used?
Will do the few basic mods like shocks sway bar maybe helper bags for towing. Lift if it doesn't come with one.
Any advice is welcomed, don't want to get a piece of **** when I had a perfect truck.
You also need to come in to this with realistic expectations. You will be purchasing a 10-15 year old truck so you should expect nagging little issues like window motors, windshield seals, and the like. If you can set aside $250-$500 /year for these type of fixes on top of the big items like fuel pump, drive train, front end, and engine fixes for the 6.0, then you will be OK.
From IL and that is almost the same truck I bought in LA about a month ago. Same color, year, price and assorted extras. But at this point no tree limbs have fallen on mine. Little front end wander on the 2k mile drive home but otherwise runs great.
