What would you do?

Eddie got me to thinking....

You are making pretty good money right now for your age. What are your future job prospects? What skills and education do you need to achieve your financial goals in life? Perhaps you should consider going to college or trade (vocational) school down the road. The money you are saving now could pay for all of your expenses during this venture.

If you work 50 weeks a year and 40 hours per week, that is a total of 2,000 hours. If you go to school and increase your wages as a result, each $1 more in wages you earn per hour translates into $2,000 more you make each year (gross earnings).
If you spent $20,000 on college and landed a job where you made $10 more per hour, you could pay yourself back in about a year. (This is not considering the opportunity cost of potential earnings foregone by attending school full time and not working while in school).

Or maybe you are entreprenurial and this money will be your initial capital expenditures. Dave, the founder of Wendy's, didn't get his GED until he was a multi-millionaire. There are many ways to the top.

Invest in yourself. Pay yourself first. You cannot finance retirement. Lose the psycho girlfriend and surround yourself with positive, stable people. In time, you will find the happiness you deserve.

The snowmobile is already set, I sold my old one for 3k so I'm really only paying 5k for it. I love them, so that's not going anywhere hehe. I had a dream last night that my dad somehow got a Shelby GT 350, it was pretty funny when I woke up.

Being past your age (44), but still remembering what it was like I would like to share with you my thoughts.

1). Make it a goal to get and stay out of debt.

2). Have sufficient reserves to make it a year without employment. I used to think 3-6 months, but from recent personal experience a year is indicated.

3). An automobile is a consumable, you will consume it's value through it's use. Therefore you cannot realistically invest in an auto and still use it.

Good luck!

I remember you having this bug once before. Ya trucks are great but a Mustang well lets just say I have 2 of them and only 1 truck. Dennis gave you go pointers. I'm still on the classic old 'stangs as the money will always be there. Now if you go the newer route I would stay away from '97 and back. Especially Cobras. '99 was also a aniversary year and might be one of my favorite SN95's. Do check the insurance before you buy and shoot for the old one first. If not go for a SVT Cobra. You'll love that 48 valve singing under the hood. Now if you really want to unload some cash start looking at a Saleen. That's what we are replacing the SHO with.

I did have the bug once, but that was for a 94-95 mustang. Now I'm thinking 69-70ish. I saw a Boss 302 with orange/black paint on ebay, 25g though! I saw another one for 7-8K but it was a fake Boss 302. I really like the Boss 302s and Mach I's but, I don't think I could find one. That and I doubt I'd buy one off ebay...

There's a crap load of Mach 1's on Ebay, but they are all far away from me. The closest decent one is NY and it's 26k.
