I purchased a power window kit that are Dolphin by brand, from EZ Wiring. The installation instructions really don't exist for any model. Curious if anyone has purchased a set of these and have installed them in a "55 or other F-100?

that is the power window kit I installed on my 55.
I had to remove some of the upper track, and drill thru the door to mount the top brackets with some spacers to get the alignment right.
If you go to www.Midfifty.com and look in their instructions you will find power window install instructions that are much clearer to read. I believe that is what I did and had no problems.
Thanks all, found the instructions at Mid Fifty and yes between their instructions and an article in a past Classic Truck Mag, I know how to move out now.
Yeah, looks like I might have to try power windows. I bought a couple of replacement window shafts from midfifty and they work ok, but the regulator appears to be on its last legs. Always somethin' going on. The "general" consensus is the EZ wire kit? Has anyone adapted the window handle to a switch and used that (for the factory look) instead of the plastic switches?
www.electric-life.com offers that switch, I haven't installed one but not sure if I'd want it because I don't know if you could control the passanger side window from the drivers side.

Peter I met a bloke with a sweet 56 who used Midfifty's window regulator handle style switch and he reckoned it was great. Miid fifty says they do not work with one piece windows in a 56,and I guess they would not work in a 53-55 as the window glass would go through where the window regulator handle would be, I believe.

Yes that would be a convenience of the small swithces for both doors, on the drivers door or on a console.
Good point about controlling both sides, John. Maybe a hidden switch under the dash for the passenger side? Gets complex, though. Thanks also, Nev. I also like that factory look.
The wiring harness that comes with the kit is very easy to install, I installed my buttons in the armrest. I also did power mirrors so I used the door pulls from a 2000-2005 impala and modified the drivers side to only take the two window buttons and used the switch for the mirrors.
I would be afraid of the stock handle looking switches. Give somebody a ride and before you can warn them they try to "crank" the window or worse yet I do it after a few beers working on the truck.

Remind me never to pick you up after a night on the turps. Heheh.
I think you are right. You'd have to keep reminding passengers they are electric windows or forever be buying new switches.
