It currently has a carbureted 460 in it. I want to put in a late model efi small block for the better drive ability. Plus it will pass a gas station without needing to stop. Got a harness for mass air 5.0 out of the salvage yard today. Trying to find information on how to trim it down to what I need just to make the engine run.

I had a great trip to El Centro Naval Air Field in California to see my friend from high school and to see the Blue Angels. It was a 500 mile round trip the truck ran great and the AC was cold. I used my phone GPS to log milage because the speedo is off 5 MPH and got 82.7 MPH peak and 66.3 average. The gas milage was 13.5 which was less than I expected with overdrive but the winds sucked so pushing a brick down highway I guess it's to be expected. I am running 3.00 gear so I'm going to swap them out to 3.50 to see if that helps. The only complaint I have is wind noise, I need to replace the window felt to see if that helps it was really hard to hear the radio at highway speeds or how the engine sounds. Oh and cruise control is needed...
Bah! I bought my '79 Bronco earlier this year in Wrightwood, CA when Uncle Sam sent me out to San Diego for 3 months and drove it home to SC. Who needs cruise control?

I know its been 2 plus yrs and still no cruise control and I have made that trip plus more several times now.
