Later build date 2003 model year trucks. My dad has an 03' he ordered within the last few months of 2002 and it does not have the extra thread length. My 04' does though.
Well I haven't found my new to me beat around truck yet, I have not been searching to aggressive though, before I had my search narrowed to only a 5.4 but now I am considering a 6.8

after the change not so much, With this being said. a few will chime in and say I'm Crazy. But while doing a tune up/ of anything. you need a torque wrench,
I know things have gotten so far off course these days. it's impossible to get a person to do there JOB. and forget trying to get them to do it RIGHT.
But u have to do it your self.
It's JUST NO AN ISSUE anymore.
Best of luck to you.
the #5 is difficult. but do-able with most tools in house
