Guys, just had to share. I've had REALLY good luck lately so something bad has to happen. Went a few weels ago and scored a 20 center section seat and mount also an overhead console from a Mark III. Thought that was good until today. Went to look at 130 amp alt's from explorers since I already have 3g being '94. Found a brand new 130 from NAPA with a 3 month old build date on the first explorer. WOW I thought. Went to an econoline to look for Saginaw pump. First one had a shiny new on too. OMG. Was waiting for lightning to strike. puller it and bracket. Thought I had better leave before the BAD happens. Found a 95 Bronco on the way out and decided to just take a look. Found a PERFECT grill in the back, wanted to get rid of the billet one on the truck anyway so COOL. Looked under the hood which was trashed by "infidels" lol and found the recall harness for the brake switch and thought that I'd never make the checkout line before being struck down by the hand of god. Decided to look inside which was trashed even worse than the motor and said oh well, can't find everything in one trip. Closed the door and just as I was turning away looked up and what did I see? Dual sun visors still in the truck which are the same gray as my interior. SCORE. Well I made it home, so keep an eye on the classifieds and Craigslist around Virginia Beach for my Flareside cuz sure as hell when I do get struck down sometime over the next few days the wife will sell it before I'm even in the dirt. LOL
Yea it was a good run, but............ Came in the house for dinner and that's when the streak ended. Walked by the dinner table and saw a couple stains on the carpet. Waterline (QEST) broke inside of wall, had the entire dining room floor soaked. Spent the last 4 hours opening wall, fixing pipe, pulling carpet and pad, and getting everything dried out. Knew it was going too good.
I don't have the time to go to the u-pull it. All the Mexicans are there all week and pick everything clean and sell it on ebay. Just empty carcass by the time I get there. Complete waste of time
The only Fords in our Pick-N-Save yard are Rangers and maybe a few '97-'03 F150's...
It's funny how different parts of the country have such a drastic variation in auto parts demand. In Indiana there's NEVER any Ford pickups newer then 97 in the yards, mostly 87-96s
I haven't been to the Pull-A-Part near me in a while, but the last time I was there I scored a nearly perfect tailgate, in Black (the color of my truck... so no need to repaint), for just $50. It was off of a plain jane F-150, so it didn't have the shiny aluminum panel my truck is supposed to have... but that can be added later on if I find a good one.
Still hoping to find a good 40-20-40 front seat setup in Grey... lol
Yea, I had the 40 20 40 in my 94 Crew Cab. Loved it. This truck had the buckets with that cheesy plastic console. Got lucky and found the bracket for the 20 seat in a MarkIII conversion and the 20 section center in another truck, so all in all parts chasing has been going very well. Getting into the habit of running up every couple weeks. Luckily its only about 10 miles.
