On closer inspection my 75 parts column needs a lot of work before I install it with ps in my 66. For now Im going to freshen up my manual steering column and worry about ps later this year. I currently do not have turn signals or a working horn.
Im trying to make sure I have all the parts before I tear the top of my steering column down.
Is there a bushing or isolator that goes on the end of the 3 speed shift lever? I don't see one on the schematics Im looking at, but it looks like one used to be on my shift lever.
I bought a new emblem for the horn ring. Is there a clear plastic cover that goes on top of it?
Are the shift levers and turn signal stalks interchangeable through the years? I may try the chrome ones off the parts truck to see how they blend in.
Im worried about those square headed bolts. I do not have a lot of dexterity. My shift collar is broken and I have a NOS one to install.
i've been working on my steering column for weeks. very tough to find parts. i feel your pain. now, when i finally find one, it looks like someone cut the end off of it, so i need to manufacturer some kind of extension to get the nut on it. i think it is a VERY good idea to have everything together before you yank it out.

Where are you looking, under a rug?
