I'll preface by saying, my technical know how ends with swapping out lights. I'm sure this is an easy fix, but not sure where to look first. I recently got a pair of smoked out taillights and 3rd brake light and installed the tails..................easy job. Finally climbed up on the back to swap out the 3rd.............lights worked before I disconnected. Connected the new one, no go, so figured, I bet bulbs are out. Plugged original back in, no lights. Figuring I tripped a fuse somewhere.................anyone good with finding the right fuse?

If it's a Recon or similar, the new light plugs in where the former bulb plugged in. Be sure the wire contacts are straight in the new light plug and making contact with the bulb harness or the light won't work. Get some dielectric grease and lube the connection for a plug it and forget about it for a long time install.

No, it's an OEM 3rd light that was smoked. I've used this guy on prior cars, so I knew his work. So should have been a simple unplug, plug procedure.
Year and model will help me, help you... In any case, in the manual online or in your glove box it will tell you what fuse and where it is located.
Sounds like you did blow fuse... I've done that going into the light when it was hot and just touching the + to ground. Since you are outside you don't even hear the fuse go "click".
Now here's the oddest thing. So, I did the swap last night. Knew I had a problem this am when it was still doing it. Came out of work today and lo and behold it was working. I must have a had a loose connection or something. Still seems odd though......
