Im waayyyy on the other side, by the Manitoba border, do you know the Kenora area? Im pretty close to there. When we drive down, we go through thunderbay, around the big lake, (drive sucks in the winter) through sault ste marie, once we get into Sudbury we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, lol. All my family is around the TO area, both my parents grew up around Hamilton. Bout 1200 miles to get down there, LOL
WOW!!! THAT is a hike..... No never been to the Kenora area. Been much farther east though. NFLD to be exact. St. John area. I want to go back some day. If I come into some extra coin I would stay. I love the Churchhill area to, only seen pics of that place. Been to Cooks Inlet on Baffin Island back in the 70s. Built temp barracks for the U.S. military. DAMN THAT was cold!!! lol I never knew that a barren place such as Baffin Island could be so beautiful in its own right. Native ppl are some what reserved to strangers and they regard the Military as invaders. WE laughed our *** off when we seen the reaction between them and the liason from the marines corps. Talk about a tense time.
lol at the Baffin Island, that's would be tense times...I hope I never make it that far north, cold enough where I live, haha. Furthest I've been east would be Ottawa/quebec, my uncle took us into Quebec one night to see the sights. Been all the way west to b.c., beautiful country out there.
We've had some really nice days, then last week, the temps just took a dump. But, should be recovering nicely this week, and, according to the weather weenines, stay warm from here on out!
