I've been trying to find some info that I thought would be easy but after an hour no luck. I recently bought a '97 350 CC with a service body. It's an SRW and I'm thinking about going DRW. Does anyone know the actual width of DRW? I'm wondering if it will fit under the existing bed.
Thanks.
A dually rear axle from a 2wd pickup will work. Don't get one from a cab and chassis truck, they will not work. It has to be from a dually truck that left the factory with a pick up bed on it. The dual wheels will probably stick out of the fender wells on the service bed if the bed was made for a single rear wheel truck.

Thanks for the info and the link.
The service body is built for srw so I guess I'm going to have to figure out how much the tires will stick out. Are the reg's about that? It's not something I've ever considered.
My underlying concern is a weight issue. I had an '05 F350 srw but it was stolen while i was about 1500 miles from home. The real PITA was that my drop in camper was off the truck when it was taken. The replacement I found was in great shape and affordable but in the stress of the situation I wasn't thinking about payload differences.
I went from a supercab gasser with a pickup bed to a crewcab 7.3 with the service body. Picked up a lot of weight and with the camper it's likely too much.
If you don't need/want the service bed, you could remove and sell it. The purchase a pickup bed and install it. Any pickup bed from a 92-96 F150, F250, or350 will fit. The 97 F350 bed will work also. You might be able to make a little on the swap also.

I don't really need the service bed but it sure does add some nice storage when I'm on the road with the camper.
Got a measurement from a 95 F350 dually, 92" to outside of tires. That would leave 6" hanging out each side. Still scratching my head on this.
