fuel problem

fuel problem
I have a 1989 f250 7.3 idi, lately its been starting hard, well I let it run for a while today and when I shut it down I herd a gurgle by the rear tank. I opened the fuel cap and diesel fuel spit out and dumped out. I never put fuel in the rear tank, I tried once but it wouldn't take any. Any ideas of what's going on?

Fuel selector valve isn't working right -- the return fuel line is going into your rear tank instead of the currently selected tank.
I'd run it on the rear tank for now, until you get it down to a manageable level; this might also be the source of your other problems(back-pressure on your return line).
