Engine loses power

Engine loses power
2003 ford 7.3 Desiel engine starts fine and runs normal intell you start to accelerate then it will loose power and the check engine light comes on. I can shift to neutral and restart the engine and it will run fine with no check engine light. this happens several times intell the engine reaches normal running temp.then it runs normaly/ i have replaced the CPS and dropped the tank and cleaned out the pickup filters. anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the problem?

Find out what the check engine light is trying to tell you. That is, above all else, number one on your to do list.
From there, follow necessary steps to get it fixed based on the code. I am guessing IPR, but could be low oil, low fuel pressure, low oil pressure, etc.
