Does anyone know where I can find new cylinder heads for a 93 f350 xlt with a efi 460 ? That hopefully won't kill my bank account. I just finally had good weather and found my # 2 and 6 cylinders have shot the plugs right out. Heads are toast per my engine builder that I brought them to. He wants 2k to get me new ones. I don't need performance, just ones to replacement the stock ones.
$2000 sounds like too much to me. You should be able to find used heads at the junk yard or Ebay for less than $200 then spend $3-400 for a shop to rebuild them if necessary. Install them yourself and put the remaining $1400 towards something more fun!
Well I found new heads for 365.79 + 125 core charge. Totaling 490.79 before i get the core back. These are reman with valves and springs. Ironically it was a last ditch effort check of rock auto. I checked car-parts.com and they are running 200+ then I would need to have them rebuilt at the engine shop depending how bad the used ones are 200 to 400 more. So it looks like at 365.79 reman ones are the cheapest route. Unless anyone else can find a cheaper way. Thanks for your help.
for 2000 you can buy brand spanking new aluminum heads. ebay has many rebuilt heads for fords that are ecconomical and are from reputable rebuilders. id check there and the good old junkyard. it doesnt take much at the machine shop to rebuild them and you can get valves, springs, retainers, and valve seals at alexsparts.com . he products are bought from the same people that make comp , lunati , and a couple other brands right from the factory. he sold me .600 lift springs for my eddy heads and no issues at all. the complete spring kit set me back about 100 and perform great. absolutly no issues
I found heads at the junk yard for 200 each but I would have to shell out to much at the engine shop to rebuild them. Its cheaper to buy them from rockauto. I haven't found anyone that can touch there price. So I definitely think I am heading to them in the next week or soon as I can afford it. Thank you for the addition parts web site. I will be looking thru several to see what is best. I would LOVE some aluminum heads but they will be out of my price range heck I could buy a complete running motor for the price of those. LoL
Well if you guys can believe it I found cheaper thru pep boys. Spartan/atk heads remaned units will work out to 312.74 per head.
Anyone have experience with this company's product? I haven't been able to dig up bad reviews on them. If I don't find anything I will place the order on Friday.
