03 Expy 4.6L
New to the boards and I have a question...well two questions.
First, with all the talk regarding the spark plug removal on the 5.4L, does this apply to my 4.6? It is a Triton...which I believe is the 3 valve.
Secondly...after this crappy brutal winter, I've developed a ticking noise. But instead of going away after the engine warms, like the posts I've read, it starts to tick after the engine has reached operating temps. Any ideas where I should start to look?
Thanks in advance!
As for your second question, use a hose as a stethoscope and listen around the valve covers and exhaust to see where the noise is coming from. You might have an exhaust leak. The way you describe it sounds more like cam phasers but lets not jump to conclusions yet.

Still be carefull to avoid stripping the threads in the head and use anti-seize when reinstalling.
Agree with Ford 05 on trying to determine ticking location to help determine issue. Bad lifter, vacuum leak, header issue, loose plug, rod knock?
