p2623 damn

Hi Guys. hope you all had a good weekend. I finally broke down and pulled #3 injector as it was throwing a code for low contribution(stiction). Now after spending 2 hours trying to jam my hands in there I got it out and pulled the shuttle valve apart on the injector and cleaned it so it would not stick to my finger when I picked it up . I reinstalled the injector and 3 hours later she was running . I was sooooo happy . Then she quit ....Oh the pain... Hooked up the AE scanner and now I have Code P2623.........ICP . Not a big deal right......Is that the one behind the head on drivers side up top......Anyway just thought I would share my weekend with you..........CHEERS

What year truck is it? 05ish up have the ICP sensor on the passenger valve cover at the front of the engine just below the glow plug control module.

Just to be sure, but it sounds like you had some trouble getting it apart, do you think maybe the dummy plug/stand pipe/oil rail isn't installed correctly?

Its a 2003 EX .As for the dummy plug not sure what you mean. The oil gallery pipe is a single pipe. going to the 4 injectors on passenger side.Pretty straight forward

The dummy plug only applies to 05+ engines. On your 03, the ICP sensor will be located behind the turbo mounted to the high pressure oil pump cover along side the IPR. They are both accessible from behind by removing the coolant bottle and reaching behind the turbo.

Some people also come from under the truck and reach past the transmission.

The common failure is leakage of oil through the sensor contaminating the ICP sensor harness. The proper fix is to replace the sensor and pigtail of the harness.

The special socket is for just the IPR it's ok to pull it and check out the screen/junk that the screen has in it, Do you have a Gauge to monitor Sensor Values? I would look at ICP,ICPV, IPR most likely the ICP pig tail connection is oily and needs replaced simple enough to do , Just make sure the crimped connections are tight before heat shrinking and Taping all back up

Pulled the IPR and the ICP today............What a job . The connector on the ICPR was really loose on the housing so that explains the starting issues . Ordered a new one online 170.00$ Ford was like 400.00$.Go figure.

Got the new sensor installed and the truck runs great. But what a job.New sensor pointed down and old pointed up so wiring harness was an issue. It took all my patience to deal with it.I hope now to have a couple of months of no more issues.

Tight is not the word I would use.I went from the top. Tryd the bottom route but did not like it.Next time I would really consider pulling body off EX.I'me sure it would be easier and a lot more fun...LOL
