New Adventures of Betsy the Farm Truck
Hey folks,
I recently picked up a 1985 4x4 lwb I6 4spd pickup "Betsy" (her name was on the core support ) that will see primary service as a Farm truck. Towing a trailer, hauling lumber, farm supplies, etc.
I have been reading alot on here over the last week or so and I figured I would go ahead and join.
The truck has to pass emissions here in Nashville, so I will say thank you all for pointing me towards some EFI manifolds and a Walker Downpipe and new CAT.
I will be starting a thread somewhere to ask some advice on exactly what I am dealing with as from reading here I am supposed to have the Feedback carb system, but upon finally spending some time under the hood I discovered that the carb only has one wire and a fuel line hooked up, and the electronic distributor is still installed. The truck seems to run fine, fires up first time and seems to run and ideal fine. I drove it about 100 miles from West TN and it pulls strong up the hills, so I have no idea what I am dealing with.
I will try to get a thread going to document everything, but here is a short list so far.
EFI Manifolds, walker downpipe and CAT
2.5" Rough country lift with new rear springs and shocks all around
some used 33x12.5 KM2's
I also have a 600 cfm holley that I plan to rebuild and eventually swap on with an OF DP intake.
Look forward to learning alot and hopefully sharing a little.
Matthew
