AUX. plug not working?

AUX. plug not working?
Hey all, I am new to the forum and I did a search but I didnt find anything..so if this is a repeat...sorry.

I just purchased a 2008 F-350 and I am trying to get my "line in" plug to connect to my iPhone. When I connect everything my radio says no connection to auxiliary. I am wondering if the plug is bad? Any body have suggestions? And where could I find this plug? Figuring the name out to search is another ???

Have you tried another source (mp3 player, another phone, etc)? That's where I'd start, just to confirm there isn't a compatibility issue.

No I have not tried another MP3 player. I hadn't even thought about it....I only have the "I" products...might have to purchase another type to give it a try. Thanks
