Rear Ends

I bought a rear end out of a dent, year unknown, no tag on the cover.

I disassembled it for the gears to go into my 66.

Now Im wondering if I should take the bare housing to my welder and have him relocate the seats so I can bolt the wider rear end into my 66.

I would get the gears I want, bigger brakes, and even out the F/R track.

Im running a 235/75R15 on a Dodge 15x6 wheel and it looks like it will fit under the wheel well just fine.

Anyone here done this swap?

i did. i have a 1979 rear under mine. definitely evened out the track width. im happy with how it looks but it makes it harder to fit wider rims if you want in the future. only downside i can find.

sorry this is the best picture i have showing the relationship of the rear to the bed side. 15x7 3.5 inch back spacing 235/75 15

Looks good.

Where did you find 15x7 rims with a 3.5 BS?

I think my Dodge rims are 15x6.5 with 4 BS.

Im measuring the rim width from the inside mounting flanges not the total width of the rim. If I measured from the outside flanges my width would be 15x7.

There are many wheel companies that will build you a wheel with any back set you want so you can fill the wheel well - both standard wheels or mags.
