There is another trailer place much closer to me than Redneck. But they are closed on Mondays. So I will check them today as well. Redneck has studs in stock, but not for a Hadco hub. At least that is what they tell me. Even O'Reilly's and pep Boys showed me 1/2 by 20 studs, just not the right shank width. I can get the lights I need at Redneck for around $45 plus tax. I am guessing this place in Fresno would be comparable in price. There is also a semi truck shop that has them, that is where I got the lights for the rear fenders on the F350 dually (only to find out it is a wiring issue that is preventing the lights from working and not the bulbs). I am not too worried about the light issue right now as I am more concerned about the studs. Without the studs, it doesn't matter if I have lights or not, the trailer is not going anywhere. LOL. Thanks for the link. That is the company I bought the air bags, and compressor kit for the F350 from.
That is the brake controller I have. Just checked the tires on the opposite side of the trailer for their max load (2540lbs) and noticed the one I was going to use as a spare is down to the steel cords. So now I will be looking for a used trailer tire as well as 5 studs/lug nuts.
Yes, I am seeing that I cannot win any bids on U-Ship since I have no feedback, and still waiting on my insurance company to get back to me with a quote on general liability coverage. There are people on U-Ship without DOT and MC numbers besides me, and they have feedback, so it would suggest that they are able to win bids. However, I am not placing any bids on there until I get this trailer problem fixed, and get it legal. (lights, break away box, and the proper insurance). Then I will try again to win some bids. Or, just sell the F350 truck and trailer, and keep the Bronco, and look for something else to do for a living.
Trailer is finally fixed, F250 is loaded, and will head up to Chico, CA. early tomorrow morning. Finally get some money coming in instead of always going out. That $80 fence bump has cost me a total of $757.29 However, now the trailer has a brand new front axle, two brand new tires, two good used tires, and all the wheel bearings have been packed or repacked. Also the shackles and lug nuts have all been tightened down. so I have confidence in the trailer again. Even have some extra lug nuts and studs, in a bag in the glove box, and a spare trailer tire/wheel in the bed of the truck. Will buy the lights, and break away box when I return and have some jingle in my pocket.
on a side note, Jim do you know if the axle they sold you has the mounting flange to add brake drums at a later date? should be a square metal plate with 4 holes in it right behind the wheel hub.
if so GREAT! you might want to invest in adding brakes to that axle. having 2 more tires aiding in stopping never hurts!
I have bought items from etrailer before (the air bags, and compressor kit I can't sell) and have had no issues with them. The Chico trip went off without a hitch, (pun intended LOL) and I went over to see Bill about the Ranchero. He loaded it on my trailer with a big forklift. Well, actually what is left of a Ranchero was loaded. It is missing the back window, and the steering column is just sitting on what used to be a bench seat. Looks like it has been sitting for quite sometime somewhere. Cobwebs everywhere. Anyway, I am back in Fresno, and the Ranchero and trailer are sitting in the mini storage lot. Bill wants me to go to Las Vegas on Monday to deliver a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, using his S-10 and a small trailer. So this time, maybe I can stop at the Tehachapi loop and gets some pictures, or even a video. LOL. Wasn't in the mood the last time I went through there.
Yes, the axle I bought has the flanges to add brakes to it. I might do that after I get the lights and break away box. Especially if I keep hauling pickup trucks. Don't know if I will buy the lights and break away box from etrailer, this place I bought the axle from has lights real cheap, and I can get them the same day I buy them. If their prices are not in line with etrailer on the break away box, then I will order that from etrailer. I already found out what a rear axle with brakes would cost ($265) so when I can afford it, I will buy that and swap out the Hadco one for it.
