Whats the best period correct looking ac unit for a 66 F100?

I have the Ford unit that was dealer installed on one of my 65 Mustangs, I have seen those in F100s, but I was saving that for the Mustang.

Will the 67-72 units bolt under our dashes and work independent of the heat and defrost?

No plans to add ac soon, but I want to keep my eye out for suitable parts.

Im still messing with the 3 speed column shift ps install.

Thanks, but CA is to far away, shipping would be nearly what I pay for it.

Lotsa luck finding another complete 1965/66 F100/250 352 A/C set up.

66 Air

I have a complete unit...everything from a dealer installed 1966 air conditioner. Truck was built in Kansas City and sent to a Oklahoma City, Ok dealership. Truck stayed in OKC until 1995 where ventured north to Wisconsin. We still have snow on the ground not to far north of where I live. I just bought this truck a few weeks ago and have already determined that I don't want it hanging under my dash. If your interested I have already removed everything from the truck and have it stored. Let me know. If not interested it's available to anyone else who might want it.
email me for pic's.

Vintage Air

Not sure what it's worth. It would be expensive to ship (compressor). Make me a offer with buyer covering costs incurred to ship.

Bezel marked Frigiking...aftermarket A/C installed by Sears or Western Auto, not genuine Ford.

Genuine Ford: See post 2.

I bought a 1965 F100 352 8' Styleside brand new at Stockton Quincy Ford, where I was working. Wanted to add A/C, but the gen-u-ine Ford dealer installed kit was 200 bucks (my cost) plus labor.

So instead, before I signed the contract, Quincy sent it to Air Cold Sales (local LA LA Land A/C shop that dealers used) and had Climactic A/C installed. My cost was 150 bucks parts and labor.

Climactic bezel similar in appearance to Frigiking & Mark IV (another aftermarket A/C).

1983: Replaced the Climactic A/C bezel with a genuine Ford bezel (see post 2) that is basically the same as 1963/65 Falcon/Fairlane; 1965/66 Mustang; 1965/67 F100/250.

Surrounding the registers, the 1963/65 bezel is painted light argent, while the 1966/67 bezel is painted medium charcoal.

A/C in Wisconsin

Thanks for the info. It just started snowing here in Rice Lake Wisconsin!! It is April 29th right? Off to the garage to reupholster my seat for the 66'. They say 35-38 for a high this afternoon. Hate running the heat in the shop this time of year. Frigiking on the shelf where it belongs, not much for summers here anymore. Was Al Gore correct??? jms

I believe Al Gore was pushing GLOBAL Warming, before he was shot down and started spouting Climate Change.

They figured how can you go wrong when you claim there is gonna be CHANGE???

That's like me claiming that because you drive a 65 Ford you are causing tomorrow to have WEATHER.
