It has ran fine, but now when i go to put it in reverse or drive it sometimes dies. And jumps forward or slips. It only done this three times, but now after having the transmission fluid changed, it want go anywhere. What could be the problem?
This really could be one of several things, or a combination of a few.

First, your torque converter clutch solenoid may be sticking open sometimes, you may also have a blockage in either the transmission case passages or in the solenoid body itself causing the solenoid to stick.

You may also have have a failing converter clutch apply piston, clutch disk or a combination of the two. Either way, it warrants a converter replacement.

There are several ways to test both of these to get a result. You can remove the solenoid pack and bench test it with 12v. At that time, you can also check the passages in the solenoid body for blockages. You could do this with the pack in the truck, it's just a bit harder to get to the pins in the plug. If they click, they work.

To test the operation of the torque converter clutch, you'll need a dual pole switch connected to ground that is spliced to the purple/yellow wire that is near the large connector directly under your brake master cylinder. To test the actuation of the converter clutch, get the truck up to 20mph, flip the switch and you should feel it lock. If nothing happens, do the following. Park the truck and shut off the engine. Using an assistant place the ignition switch to "on" and have the assistant flip the switch from off to on several times, while you listen for the "click" of the solenoid in the pan. If you hear a click and your converter is not locking, you either have a cracked converter apply piston, a damaged converter clutch disk or a blockage in the torque converter clutch hydraulic system (unlikely). If you don't hear a click, you have damaged wiring or connector, a damaged tcc solenoid or a blockage in the solenoid body.

In the end though, I would lean more towards a sticking converter piston or a damaged tcc solenoid that sticks open until it gets unsettled by fluid pressure.

No I did not drive it home. It jerked from one parking space to another parking space. I went back inside and told them and they can't get to it until next Tuesday. So i left it their. I watched them drive it around from the waiting room. Didn't seem to be having any trouble when they parked it. Funny the guy who changed the fluid didn't say anything to me. It looks like it would have been messing up on him to when he drove it around.

The most common reason for this is low trans fluid. Have you checked the level with the trans warmed up (at least 10 miles of driving,) idling in park, and on a level surface?

A common problem when changing the fluid is that the old gasket on the filter, some times stays lodged in the mounting hole. It isn't noticed and the new filter is shoved in there with another gasket on it and you think your good to go. Put the pan back on and fill it up, the way you go. Then the filter falls off and the pump can't pump fluid, no go.

Edit: This happened to me once, maybe its not common, IDK, Mark will steer you in the right direction.

Low fluid level can cause it or bad pump..make sure fluid is full with the trand up to temp.doinng so cold is not correct.otherwise its gonna need to come out.
mine has 327000..i don't know history before 260k but from the grime it has been a long time if ever being rebuilt..i know its a time bomb..no hand shaker for me though.

Yeah, mine has not been rebuilt yet that I can seee and it has 203k on the clock. I don't think these are ticking time bombs like people say. I know the key is to keep them cool.

For the record, mine was stalling when putting in reverse or coming to a stop. This was a month after I got it last summer. Mark was spot on with the low fluid and he guided me in this direction. I checked it the proper way, found it to be low and added 4 quarts until it was reading full. I have not had an issue since then. Hopefully your issue is that simple.
