My pump just started violently shaking and smoking and i took the belt off and i cant even turn it by hand. Its also dripping out the shaft. How do you get those metal pulleys off without bending them so i can take the 3 bolts out with removing the whole friggen bracket assembly.
95 f150 4.9. Will these tools work the same on the plastic ps pulleys too. I have a pump off and old truck and it has the plastic pulley.
I can't specifically answer about your 4.9 as it may be a little different than my 5.8 but I use them on my plastic pulley without issues. I don't recall ever having a metal pulley on mine - if I did it was a LONG time ago.
do you have an autozone near you? They will loan you the puller/installer...no charge. Pay for it (deposit) use it then return it and they issue a full credit
Of course, since it's from HFT it probably has lead and thallium in it.
Hahaha... yeah probably does but for the price it can't be beat. It's actually a nice, solid tool kit.
I noticed the quality of their stuff has been improving over the years. Still some cheap junk to be found of course, but also a lot of decent tools and equipment for a decent price these days.
When i take this pulley off is the whole bracket and nonsense gonna have to come off. I got a puller similar above but its not right. Its completely threaded all the way and doesnt have the round piece on the end to fit in the whole

Remove the pulley, remove the 3 bolts and the pump should come out the back. Then just need to remove hoses. This is how it is on my 351w
