I'm looking to convert over to a dually and I know the duallys came with 2.5" spring is instead of 3". Can I use my spring and put a small spacer behind the wheels or will the spring pads on the axle not line up?
The cab and chasis trucks used the 2 1/5 inch springs. The duallys that came from the factory with a bed used the 3 inch springs. The C&C rear axle is to narrow to fit the trucks with the factory box. If you are going from a single wheel truck with a factory box, get a rear axle from a dually that left the factory with a box. It is a direct swap.
Need more info.
Are you trying to add dually wheels to an existing non-dually axle on your truck?
Or are you trying to find a dually axle to put under your truck?
The dually cab & chassis trucks have a narrower frame and with narrower springs so the spring pads on a c&c axle will not bolt up to regular pick-up springs and frame.
Or you can just add a spacer and use the regular 10.25 axle. I know lots of guys have done it, and the upfitters did that when building a F-350 4x4 dually crew cab back in the day.
