Before I open up IDM I plugged it back in Hooked up AE to try another Buzz with drivers side bank unplugged NO BUZZ from pass side bank
Also under codes...No codes then below that it says Enhanced Powertrain..No Response From Module
Im Stumped The buzz test worked to tell me there was a issue with 6,8 bank. Sure enough there was a burnt pin #6 glowplug Installed new pig tails, gasket and harnesses on that side.
Now Nothing no start, instraments cluster lights up like normal
Plug in AE and it connects to pcm, searches and loads all 500+ sensors, try to buzz injectors and nothing
Ya the AE detects all sensors when booting up. It reads voltage, ICP when cranking over etc.
It seems that there is no communication or controle with IDM
My batt voltage is a bit low due to cranking a lot... Charging now They are brand new batts
PCM may have disabled the IDM on account of low voltage. IDM has to develop 120VDC, so the PCM may have a protection program built in that says, in effect, sorry, no IDM action if battery reference voltage is below X. So try again after you've jumped some juice into those batts. Don't bother trying to crank it until you get the comm/buzz/IDM issue resolved. For that matter, to conserve power, disconnect the GP relay for this phase.
If the PCM has disabled the IDM is there a way to reset this condition. I have the batts disconnected for the night, they are fully charged. In the morning I wil disconnect the GP reconnect the batts and try to Buzz the injectors. I have also looked at all the ground cables I could find and connections and they look good.
Is there a list that says all the ground wires on these wiring harnesses??
OK Batts fully charged, disconnect GP's Reconnect batts and tried to do buzz test. No GO!! tried only buzz pass side...NO GO tried buzzing only drivers side...NO GO
OK pulled valve covers to inspect for broken wires or shorts, looks good
Did ohm test gasket pins to ground and GP pins to injector pins ALL GOOD
Disconnected IDM and did ohm test from pigtails to IDM Plug...All GOOD also checked all IDM / Pigtail wires to ground for a short... All GOOD
Checked for power to # 8 maxi fuse power to it with ign OFF
Checked power to fuse 22 no power with ign off power with ign ON
Checked IDM and PCM power relays GOOD
How do I test My IDM??? Have not opened up looks sealed and shake sounds good
I finally opened up IDM and it is as clean as new NO signs of water
NOW WHAT
PLEASE HELP
I just read both pages of this thread. I saw that DZL JIM recommended swapping out your IDM with a known good one. I didn't read that you tried that yet but you sure have done a lot of troubleshooting so far.
Well, everything worked till you replaced Valve Cover harnesses. If it was me I would start by removing harness wrapping until reaching original wiring so color coding can be seen. Re-do or at least verify correct wiring.
You can do some additional resistance checks with IDM plugged in ...
