my f250 is not able to move. after a 20 min the truck (in gear) won't move. 2000rpm it barerly move forward. i think the clutch converter just gone right? any help appreciated.
This may be a little obvious but did you check to see if it had fluid?
did this happen suddenly or is this been an on going problem that suddenly got worse?
i was having problems downshifting... i tought it was a wrong tps setting. after adjusting the tps went for a drive and it got worse. checked the fluid level before going for a drive (engine warm). the fluid level was just above the crosshatch area. maybe i could have add a bit more but could this be the cause of the malfunction? going to check the mlps and try to manually get it on 1st or 2nd.. I'll let you know how it goes.thanks again.
went to get the truck the day after and it works fine.. thinking of what could be wrong i tought i might have used the wrong tranny fluid. i'v used the mobil atf don't exactly remember. i did a bit of research and couldn't find mercon V. would it be a good idea to change the fluids again using maybe a castrol CASTROL MP DEXRON ® III/MERCON®? thanks

Using the wrong atf may be the cause of your current problem whether changing it to the correct atf will fix the problem I don't know but it is worth trying and a lot cheaper than a rebuild if it works. any good Dexron/Mercon should be ok including the one you mentioned above. You should check fluid levels with the engine running other wise you get a false reading on the fluid level.
Many moons ago I rebuilt a TH-400 in a Jeep. Jeep got wrecked shortly thereafter by a shortly thereafter ex-wife. Jeep sat for a number of years before I got around to fixing it. Initial test drives revealed a very whiny transmission, which would go away with higher rpm but return when rpm when down, and some funny shifting behavior.
Much head scratching, b****ing, moaning, and crying ensued because I wasn't looking to rebuild a rebuilt tranny with only a few thousand miles on it.
Praise be to Al Gore for inventing the internet and giving Google a reason to exist because a bit of searching yielded a hail mary plan of attack.
I changed the filter. It seems that sitting around for a couple years had gummed up the filter and it was starving the tranny. Problem solved.
This may or may not have anything to do with your issue, but I would imagine it's a fairly simple and cheap "test".

While we are on E4ODs, overfilling can/will cause it to over heat to where it spits fluid out the top breather. I have a trans temp gauge. I swapped in a rebuilt and took off cross country. It was a cool evening but it was running hot. About forty miles out I stopped and drained a couple quarts and the temp dropped to normal.
flushed the fluids... refilled the trans with 16 quarts of mercon v. with engine warm, after a 10 minutes drive, the fluid level is in the crosshatch area. went for a drive and the tranny still acting weird. on 3rd gear with a bit of throttle it starts vibrating badly.. while flushing the fluids i took off the solenoid pack, cleaned the pins.. don't know what to do now..
