What's wrong with this engine?

Pulled the head off my 4.9. Every intake seat visibily cracked. Valve heads are all white. Safe to put a reman head on it or should it all come down to check block as well? Yes, it did get really hot once upon a time.

Got the engine on the stand but thinking a good used engine might be a good move. This is an occasional driver just used for hauling. What would you do?

If its already out and on the stand pull it down. How many miles does it have on it. If it's got high mileage it's not worth throwing a new head on it and have the bottom end go.

If everything was white I would say either overheated or running to lean.

That engine was running excessively lean so you have a fueling issue that needs to be fixed.
