My truck started making this noise about 10,000 miles ago. I have over a 140,000 miles now.

Since that buzzing started I have noticed that my brakes are mushy and pedal almost hits the floor. Pads are good. Asked Tech if the waste gate has connection with brakes he said it does. will wait to see what happens when it gets fixed on Monday if brakes boost back up. service advisor was quick to point out that the issue was on a TSB not a recall. I told him that all TSB I have brought in I did not have to pay for one of them and I was not going to pay for this one. He must be new. If Ford issued a TSB on a problem, it must be a problem, NOT my problem. Will let yall know when it gets repaired.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, apd966. If you need my help after your trip to the dealer, just send me your info in a PM. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.

That is part of the motor and covered for 5 years/100K miles.

How many miles are on your truck?

The part that needs replaced/failed determines the warranty.

I would suggest you check your paperwork for the part.

then go to another dealer and ask them what the warranty is on that part.

If covered then get them to fix the truck.

Or ask the SA to look up the part with you there and have him show you its coverage.

It seemed to start around 40,000 and I took it to the dealer and was told that it was "normal" and not to worry about it, that most 2011's were doing it. He didn't state the reason for the noise. 30 seconds and off. (at 48,000 still doing it) At first I thought that it was the fuel pump, but the waste gate makes more sense. Still doing it. The truck runs like a bear and I'm happy with the performance.

Mine's been doing it since I got the truck used. Pretty sure that's the reason my neighbour and prev owner traded the truck in. He was told by a friend that it indicated imminent fuel system failure.
