Door jamb axle code
I have a 95 f-350 and would like to know what axle I have in this truck. Both axle tags are missing, but door jamb axle code reads 26.

The truck will have a Ford 10.25 full floating rear axle under it which will probably have at least a 5300lb rating, but I don't see 26 in the chart.. could it be a 36?

P.S. The 2x axle codes are usually associated with 1/2 ton trucks so it's possible the cab has been swapped on this one, have you tried to decode the VIN?

Better look again, there was no 26 in 1994 or 1995.

Sorry guys, axle code is 65 not 26. must be too early in the morning.

So would that make it a ford 10.25 full floating rear? And would it be an open rear not LS? Should I be using 80w- 90w gear oil? thanks
