Question for Gift

My Father In Law grew up on a farm and is looking for a model of a 1946 Ford Truck. I have found many 1940.....are they the same model? I know they change in 1948....is that correct?
Thanks for your help!!

The cab and bed should be the same. The difference is in the front clip or nose of the truck. Fenders, hood and grill changed in 1942 and remained the same until the '48 model year. If you find a correct model in your search, please post up what you find. I'd like one too! Good luck in your search.

...Danbury Mint makes a 1/24 scale die cast of a 1942 Pickup which is basically the same as a 46. I picked up couple of them on E-bay a couple years ago. They are still on there for sale regularly....

Thanks! I always seem to have the oddball stuff they never make a model of, but finally after last month's purchase of a '47 half ton, I've gotta have one of those models. Hey, and my birthday is next month!

Check out eBay, there are several small diecast 42, same look, that show up. Menard's had one, coca cola, etc. They usually have little barrels and such in the bed. And they are not too expensive.
