Trans fluid

So I dropped and replaced fluid and filter the other night. Guess I didn't pay attention and fluid is reading high on the dip stick. It's not crazy high, maybe half quart. Should I drop the fluid again or can I wait till I was Gona do it in 1000 miles

Just drained it to the middle of the full line. So I'm guessing that should be ok

Not to derail, but when after it is drained and you start it up and put it in neutral for the first time should it be filled all the way to the hot line or only to the cold line? I have always been mixed up as to whether hot fill means if you live in a hot climate fill to that line or the fluid should be there when the engine is hot.

Hot fill means checked when the transmission is at operating temperature. The cold fill line is for people that don't want to check the transmission fluid properly. Don't ever use the cold fill line for ANYTHING.

Next time measure the amt you removed and put that much in.... then run until it's up to operating temp and then recheck it.
