Brake Lights

My brakr lights were staying on while the vehicle was in park,now they don't work at all. Fuses are good,any ideas? I have searched the past post but didn't find any suggestions about the brake sensor on the pedal. Could this be the culprit? If so how much trouble is it to change?

Hi William and welcome to FTE

The brake light switch on the pedal is the likely culprit. It is easy to replace. One connector and 1 clip hold it on.

Thanks Dave,you were right on the money, it was the stop switch,one of the sets of contacts were burnt. I assume the other set is for the cruise control. I got a new one from my dealer for less than $10 bucks and replaced in a matter of a few minutes. Again thanks for the info!
